SynHiSel programme: £9 million research programme to reinvent chemical separation methods  [+]

The SynHiSel programme has received a total of £9m in funding, from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, the biggest of its kind to date, to develop more efficient separations. Part of the proposed work at the University of Manchester by Dr Patricia Gorgojo, will aim at developing microRNA selective membranes that can be implemented in pocket-sized biosensors for fast diagnosis of some types of cancer.
